In 1991, Chuck graduated in the top of his class with a BFA in Graphic Design from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He immediately began his career with five years at the New York firm, Chermayeff & Geismar, working on a wide variety of brand, identity, and marketing materials for clients ranging from non-profit arts organizations to global consulting agencies.

From 1996 to 1998, Chuck took on the role of Creative Director for The New Victory Theater to lead the development and evolution of the brand from logo to all forms of communication for the theater and its parent organization, The New 42nd Street, Inc. While working with the newly developed Victory Theater in 1996, Chuck co-founded the New York-based design studio, Deluxe Design for Work + Leisure. With his partner they worked on various disciplined projects with established arts institutions such as Lincoln Center Theater and NYFA.

After a few short-term boutique studio engagements such as the brand developement of Issey Myake’s Pleats Please at Smart Design, Chuck took a “non-profit” break from Deluxe in 1999 to work as a Design Director for Red Sky, formerly Nuforia formerly Belk Mignona Associates. There he continued to develop and excercise his skills leading creative teams on brand development, as well as Web and interactive projects for clients such as Seagram/Universal and Texaco.com.

Since 2000, Chuck continues to work as an independent Creative Consultant/ Director on assignments with clients and various agencies on projects that continue to range from small arts organizations to large corporate groups. His work has appeared in various international publications and has been recognized by industry-related organizations such as AIGA, SEGD, and The New York and Philadelphia Art Directors’ Club.

Chuck currently lives on the border of the West Village and Chelsea in New York City. He has a barkless dog.
