Select projects listed below have involved multiple levels of creative -direction, -strategy, and -presentation. Hands-on design and varying degrees of project, client, and team management are also key responsibilities.

G2 Worldwide (Grey Global Group Partner Company) Designer
April–May 2003

Pitch project for a global candy manufacturer. Assignment entailed developing and leading the design direction for two of four campaigns presented. New repositioning and event campaign
brand language was developed for execution over multiple channels including merchandise, packaging, in-store displays, and advertising.

Ogilvy & Mather Consultant/Designer
April, December 2002–March 2003

Part of Ogilvy & Mather’s 360° Brand Integration Group (B.I.G.) for several brand repositioning pitches and assignments. Contributed to the development of the brand language and specific U.S. and European POS items for various consumer retail brands including Pizza Hut and Sprite. Consulting and production of retail usage and brand guidelines for Sprite.

Campbell and Francis Consultant/Designer
January 2003–present

Consultation and design of new logo and identity system for a new gallery with domestic spaces in NYC and Chicago. The consultation has included logo, system, Web, and various other key signature pieces for the new partnership.

The Delve Group Consultant/Creative Director/Designer
November 2001 – October 2002

Initially contracted to develop the identity and key branding language for the start-up consulting company focused on helping the business, sales, brand, and marketing strategies of growing companies.

Continued as a creative and design consultant role with multiple branding, packaging, identity, and marketing/sales projects for The Delve Group’s mostly B2B and BPO clients such as Equitant, signature brand and sales brochure; ECD/Ovonics, brand guidelines and packaging; and Discover General Contracting, marketing campaign identity and key brand items.

Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC)
Consultant/Designer
July – November 2001

Creative direction/consultation, design, and project management of “The Next Stage” materials, an eight-year capital campaign to raise funds to restore the Biltmore Theatre on Broadway. The fund raising and marketing package includes two brochures, stationery system, pocket folder, and a press photo CD, among others.

Fruit of the Harvest Records Consultant/Designer
January – May 2001

Brand and identity design consultant for a new record company featuring a young up-and-coming contemporary jazz/soul writer and performer. Work-to-date includes identity, promo CD materials, and initial web site development. The initial PR drive and demos contributed to a record contract, U.S. and European release, and promotional tour.


THE NEW VICTORY THEATER / THE NEW 42ND STREET INC.

Creative Director/Consultant
1996 – 1999, July – September 2001

As the key creative lead for The New Victory Theater — New York’s theater for kids — and its parent organization, The New 42nd Street, the primary responsibility was in-house brand development through advertising, marketing, show posters and programs, gala invitation packages, signage, and book covers, and many other mediums.

The process involved working closely with the marketing, education, and development departments through all aspects of content and concept development, design, visual content,and production for all projects for the two organizations as well as supervision and direction of freelancers and staff apprentices.


NUFORIA / RED SKY INTERACTIVE Design Director
August 1999 – December 2000

Engaged as a freelancer then promoted to Design Director for the interactive and brand strategy company. Led the creative/ design direction with teams on a variety of internal and external print and interactive projects. Teams of various sizes from one to six designers, writers, production, and strategists depending on the scope of the project. Responsibilities included photo art direction, team mentoring, company name development, and hands-on design.

Select clients included Seagram/Universal, an interactive CD; Texaco.com, Olympic sponsorship and highlights; Octel Corp., British chemical company annual report; Basis100, brand development, tradeshows; and Tricon Global Restaurants, fast food annual report.


SMART DESIGN Consultant/Designer
Spring/Summer 1999

Select projects included: Brand development through first season catalog, street/magazine advertising, and various other marketing collateral for Pleats Please Issey Miyake; and marketing and promotional materials for Smart Design.


GLAZER & KALAYJIAN, INC. Consultant/Designer
Winter 1999

Select projects included: Styleguide and branding recommendations for the newly merged Neuberger Berman and interactive portfolio for Glazer & Kalayjian Communications Design Group.


DELUXE DESIGN FOR WORK + LEISURE Creative Director/Founding Partner
1996 – ongoing for special projects

One of two founding partners of a freelance design team, which primarily responds to non-profit and cultural institutions, and other more ‘fun’ projects. Projects range from logos, event branding and packages, annual reports, to signage.

Select clients have included: Lincoln Center Theater, neon and lighted informational signage and multimedia lobby proposal; Lure wigs, identity and related items; The New Festival Inc. (organizers of the NY Lesbian and Gay Film Festival), identity and related items; and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, AileyCamp brochures.


CHERMAYEFF & GEISMAR Senior Designer
1991 – 1996

First job establishing extensive experience with logos, stationery, branding, print and marketing collateral, advertising, information signage, packaging. Project responsibilities included — but were not limited to — all aspects of design conception through final production; lead direction of junior designers, freelancers and production artists.

Highlighted clients were: Bronx Zoo, World of Birds informational signage and interactive exhibits; Corcoran Gallery of Art, D.C. Museums’ Bus identity; and May Department Stores Companies, shopping bag and gift box system.
